Fluvanna County Flying Flucos (Palmyra, VA) followers went home pleased Wednesday as they witnessed their football squad topple the visiting Monticello Mustangs (Charlottesville, VA), 28-14 in a non-league match.

The Flying Flucos (5-1) will now prepare for their match against Orange County (Orange, VA). The Fighting Hornets enter the non-league match with a 2-4 record. In their last match, Orange County was beaten by Albemarle (Charlottesville, VA), 24-8, in a non-league match.

Next up, the Mustangs play the Charlottesville Black Knights (Charlottesville, VA) in a non-league battle, on Wednesday, October 15. Monticello will attempt to advance on its 1-5 season record. The Black Knights go into the battle with a 1-5 record after their 21-6 non-league loss to Western Albemarle (Crozet, VA).
