The Nelson County Governors football squad (Lovingston, VA), was routed 60-0 in Wednesday's non-league contest with the visiting Gretna Hawks (Gretna, VA)

The Hawks (1-3) will now prepare for their contest against Dan River (Ringgold, VA). The Wildcats enter the non-league contest with a 1-5 record. In their last contest, Dan River was routed by Altavista (Altavista, VA), 75-6, in a non-league contest.

Next up, the Governors encounter the Patrick County Cougars (Stuart, VA) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, October 16. Nelson County will attempt to advance on its 1-3 season record. The Cougars go into the battle with a 4-2 record after their 16-14 non-league loss to Radford (Radford, VA).
