The crowd at Monday's non-league bout between the Highland Baptist Christian Bears (New Iberia, LA) and the visiting Covenant Christian Academy Lions (Houma, LA), saw Highland Baptist Christian's volleyball squad nip Covenant Christian Academy by a tally of 3-2.

With the win, Highland Baptist Christian upgrades its record to 12-8 on the year. The Bears travel to Academy of the Sacred Heart (Grand Coteau, LA) to play the Saints in a Division V District 1 bout on Tuesday, October 10. The Saints go into the bout with a record of 10-9.

The Lions now own a 21-10 record. They play next when they travel to Franklin for a Division IV District 2 bout on Tuesday, October 10.
