Mt. Vernon Rams (Mt. Vernon, IL) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they witnessed their soccer team knock off the visiting Carterville Lions (Carterville, IL), 3-1 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Mt. Vernon moves its record to 6-8 on the campaign. The Rams travel to Centralia (Centralia, IL) to clash with the Orphans in a South Seven test on Thursday, October 10. The Orphans come into the test with a record of 7-10. Centralia won 5-3 in their recent non-league test against Massac County (Metropolis, IL)

The Lions now sport a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Freeburg for a non-league test on Saturday, October 12. Carterville will clash with a Midgets team coming off a 3-3 non-league Lebanon (Lebanon, IL). The Midgets record now stands at 8-8.
