In Wednesday's non-league match, the host Clopton Hawks softball team scored a tight 8-1 win over the Monroe City Panthers.

The Hawks (11-9) will now prepare for their match against Van-Far (Vandalia, MO). The Indians come into the Eastern Missouri match with a 4-17 record. In their last match, Van-Far nipped Hermann (Hermann, MO), 7-3, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Panthers battle the North Shelby Raiders (Shelbyville, MO) in a non-league match, on Thursday, October 10. Monroe City will attempt to better on its 16-9 season record. The Raiders come into the match with a 13-7 record after their 6-3 non-league loss to Salisbury (Salisbury, MO).
