The Dwight Trojans edged the visiting Gardner-South Wilmington Panthers volleyball squad by a final score of 2-1 in Wednesday's non-league game.
Next up, the Trojans face the Marquette Crusaders (Ottawa, IL) in a Tri-County game, on Thursday, October 10. Dwight will attempt to advance on its 11-12 season record. The Crusaders go into the game with a 16-7 record after their 2-1 non-league win over Fieldcrest (Minonk, IL).
The Panthers (14-10) will now prepare for their game against Pontiac (Pontiac, IL). The Indians go into the non-league game with a 16-8 record. In their last game, Pontiac nudged Paxton-Buckley-Loda (Paxton, IL), 2-1, in a league game.
