Leavitt Hornets (Turner, ME) fans went home in high spirits Thursday as they observed their soccer squad nudge the visiting Maranacook Black Bears (Readfield, ME), 1-0 in a non-league outing.

The Hornets (7-1) will now prepare for their outing against Morse (Bath, ME). The Shipbuilders go into the Class B - South bout with a 5-2 record. In their last bout, Morse got by Medomak Valley (Waldoboro, ME), 1-0, in a non-league bout.

With the loss, Maranacook moves to 2-3 on the year. The Black bears host Maine Central Institute (Pittsfield, ME) to play the Huskies in a non-league bout on Saturday, October 11. The Huskies go into the bout with a record of 1-7. Maine Central Institute lost 3-2 in their recent non-league game against Nokomis (Newport, ME)
