Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Black River Rats (Holland, MI) and the visiting Lawrence Tigers (Lawrence, MI), observed Black River's volleyball team top Lawrence by a tally of 3-0.

The Rats (8-8) will now prepare for their contest against Covert (Covert, MI). The Bulldogs enter the non-league contest with a 0-13 record. In their last battle, Covert was defeated by Central (Battle Creek, MI), 3-0, in a non-league battle.

The Tigers now own a 1-14 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bangor for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, October 15. Lawrence will meet a Vikings team coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Decatur (Decatur, MI). The Vikings record now stands at 17-4.
