In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Pine River Area Bucks volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Hesperia Panthers.
The Bucks (12-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Elk Rapids (Elk Rapids, MI). The Elks come into the non-league challenge with a 11-16 record. In their last challenge, Elk Rapids beat Kalkaska (Kalkaska, MI), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Panthers play the Manistee Mariners (Manistee, MI) in a Western Michigan challenge, on Thursday, October 9. Hesperia will attempt to upgrade on its 4-12 season record. The Mariners come into the challenge with a 7-9 record after their 3-1 league loss to Whitehall (Whitehall, MI).
