In Tuesday's non-league match, the host South Pontotoc Cougars basketball team scored a tight 57-50 triumph over the Lafayette Commodores.
In their next game, the Cougars meet the North Side Gators (Shelby, MS) in a non-league match, on Saturday, November 5. South Pontotoc will attempt to better on its 1-0 season record. The Gators enter the match with a 0-1 record after their 58-49 non-league loss to Simmons (Hollandale, MS).
