The Alexander Central Cougars felled the visiting Hibriten Panthers football team by a score of 35-21 in Friday's league challenge.
In their next game, the Cougars face the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge, on Friday, November 8. Alexander Central will attempt to improve on its 4-5 season record.
The Panthers (2-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Patriots go into the Northwestern 3A/4A challenge with a 5-4 record. In their last challenge, Freedom lost by Watauga (Boone, NC), 42-6, in a league challenge.
