First Quarter

Edgewood opened the game with possession, but the Raptor defense quickly forced a turnover when Ben Schultz recovered a fumble less than a minute into the game. With 10:41 to go in the quarter, Anderson quarterback Justice Burnam found Trace Jallick from six yards out for a Raptors touchdown. Durrell Turner added the two-point conversion rush to give Anderson a 16-0 lead. On the ensuing drive, Tommy Huster recovered a Cougar fumble in Edgewood territory. With 8:18 remaining, Turner ran for a 1-yard touchdown and Burnam scrambled on the two-point try to make it a 16-0 game. Edgewood turned the ball over on downs on its next drive, and the Raptors capitalized when Turner ran 34 yards for another Anderson touchdown (his second of the night) and Burnam converted the two-point conversion to extend the Raptor lead to 24 with 6:08 left in the quarter. With 1:46 to go, Burnam connected with Jallick on a 24-yard touchdown to take a 32-0 lead into the second quarter.

Second Quarter

The Cougars had possession to begin the second quarter, but were quickly forced to punt. A long pass from Burnam to Cooper Kathman put the ball in Edgewood territory, and Jallick caught his third touchdown of the night (this one from 24 yards out) to put Anderson up 38-0. Turner's two-point conversion rush was good. On the next drive, junior Ke'Maury Tye blocked a Cougar punt and Brady Kuhn returned it for a 20-yard score to extend the Raptor lead to 46. Nick Martin was held out of the end zone on the two-point try, however, and the score stood. After Edgewood got the ball back on the kickoff, quarterback Carter Breedlove was intercepted by senior Jayonn Saunders, who returned the pick 31 yards for an Anderson score. Martin ran for the two-point conversion to extend the Raptor lead to 54 with 7:17 to go until halftime. The Cougars were forced to punt on the ensuing drive, and with 1:56 remaining, Owen Scalf connected with Nick Rosiello on a 39-yard TD to make it 62-0 at half.

Third Quarter

Anderson began the third quarter with the ball, but the Cougar defense stood strong, forcing a turnover on downs at midfield. With 5:58 remaining in the quarter, Ryan Weber found Jordan Crider for a 21-yard touchdown. Bryce Davidson made the extra point to cut the lead to 55 at 62-7. The Raptors were able to answer on their next drive as a long pass from Scalf to Kathman advanced the ball deep into Edgewood territory; then, Scalf connected with Nick Martin on a 20-yard touchdown pass. Scalf hooked up with Kathman once again on the two-point conversion to make it a 70-7 game. The Cougars ended the third quarter with possession but still trailed big entering the fourth quarter.

Fourth Quarter

The Cougars moved the ball inside the red zone early in the fourth quarter, but the Anderson defense held, forcing a turnover on downs. On the first play of the drive, Scalf threw an 89-yard touchdown pass to Kathman and Maddux Snider caught a Scalf pass on the two-point try to extend the Raptor lead to 71 at 78-7. Edgewood couldn't manage any points on the final drive of the game, and Anderson closed out a 78-7 victory over the Cougars in the first round of the OHSAA Playoffs.
