The Mt. Vernon Mustangs football squad scored 42 points and limited the visiting Carroll Tigers to 6 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Friday.
The Mustangs now sport a 9-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Algona for a non-league test on Friday, November 8. Mt. Vernon will meet a Bulldogs squad coming off a 49-6 non-league win over Harlan (Harlan, IA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 9-1.
With the defeat, Carroll drops to 7-4 on the campaign.
