Mississippi High School Football - New Hope triumphant over Lafayette

November 1, 2024: Columbus, MS 39702

The crowd at Friday's league contest between the New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS) and the visiting Lafayette Commodores (Oxford, MS), witnessed New Hope's football squad wallop Lafayette by a tally of 42-7.

The Trojans (8-1) will now prepare for their contest against West Point (West Point, MS). The Green Wave enter the 5A Region 1 contest with a 6-3 record. In their last contest, West Point crushed Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS), 34-14, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Commodores battle the Corinth Warriors (Corinth, MS) in a 5A Region 1 contest, on Thursday, November 7. Lafayette will attempt to better on its 0-9 season record. The Warriors enter the contest with a 5-4 record after their 49-20 league win over Clarksdale (Clarksdale, MS).
