In Friday's league match, the host Summers County Bobcats football squad scored a good 24-12 triumph over the Liberty Raiders.

The Bobcats (3-6) will now prepare for their match against Independence (Coal City, WV). The Patriots come into the Coalfield AA match with a 5-3 record. In their last match, Independence was beaten by Princeton (Princeton, WV), 48-10, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Raiders meet the Wyoming East Warriors (New Richmond, WV) in a non-league match, on Friday, November 8. Liberty will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record. The Warriors come into the match with a 1-8 record after their 18-7 league loss to Van (Van, WV).
