In Friday's league game, the Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX) football team overcame the host Palmview Lobos (La Joya, TX), by a tally of 35-18.

In their next game, the Sabercats battle the Rio Grande City Rattlers (Rio Grande City, TX) in a 5A-1 Region IV District 16 game, on Thursday, November 7. Vela will attempt to better on its 9-0 season record. The Rattlers enter the game with a 1-8 record after their 34-7 league win over Juarez-Lincoln (La Joya, TX).

The Lobos (6-3) will now prepare for their game against McAllen Memorial (McAllen, TX). The Mustangs enter the 5A-1 Region IV District 16 game with a 7-2 record. In their last game, McAllen Memorial notched a victory over Rowe (McAllen, TX), 42-28, in a league game.
