Texas High School Football - Rio Hondo trounces Santa Gertrudis Academy

In Friday's league match, the host Rio Hondo Bobcats football squad scored a decisive 52-0 triumph over the Santa Gertrudis Academy Lions.

The Bobcats (7-2) will now prepare for their match against Progreso (Progreso, TX). The Red Ants come into the 3A-1 Region IV District 16 match with a 1-8 record. In their last match, Progreso was routed by Lyford (Lyford, TX), 48-7, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Lions meet the Raymondville Bearkats (Raymondville, TX) in a 3A-1 Region IV District 16 match, on Friday, November 8. Santa Gertrudis Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Bearkats come into the match with a 3-6 record after their 34-13 league loss to Bishop (Bishop, TX).
