In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Cardinal Newman Cardinals volleyball team scored a 3-1 victory over the American Eagles.
The Cardinals (19-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Saint Mary's (Albany, CA). The Panthers enter the non-league challenge with a 23-8 record. In their last test, Saint Mary's achieved victory over Mission San Jose (Fremont, CA), 3-0, in a non-league test.
The Eagles now own a 18-10 record.
