Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Loyd Star Hornets (Brookhaven, MS) and the visiting Salem Wildcats (Tylertown, MS), saw Loyd Star's basketball squad hold off Salem by a tally of 62-58.

With the victory, Loyd Star improves its record to 3-1 on the campaign. The Hornets host North Pike (Summit, MS) to confront the Jaguars in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, November 15. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a record of 1-2. North Pike won 36-12 in their recent non-league challenge against Franklin County (Meadville, MS)

Next up, the Wildcats confront the West Marion Trojans (Foxworth, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, November 15. Salem will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 0-4 record after their 63-58 non-league loss to Sumrall (Sumrall, MS).
