Mt. Vernon Marauders (Fortville, IN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Connersville Spartans (Connersville, IN), 40-33 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mt. Vernon upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Marauders travel to Rushville (Rushville, IN) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Friday, November 18. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 3-0. Rushville won 37-29 in their recent league challenge against South Dearborn (Aurora, IN)

Next up, the Spartans confront the Shenandoah Raiders (Middletown, IN) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, November 12. Connersville will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record.
