New Mexico High School Volleyball - Aztec routed by Los Alamos

The Los Alamos Hilltoppers volleyball team scored 3 points and limited the visiting Aztec Tigers to 0 in the Hilltoppers non-league victory on Friday.

The Hilltoppers now possess a 21-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hope Christian for a non-league outing on Friday, November 11. Los Alamos will face a Huskies squad coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Pojoaque Valley (Pojoaque, NM). The Huskies record now stands at 18-6.

The Tigers now own a 22-5 record.

Match Summary

The Toppers arrived on day 2 of the State Championship ready in their next step to make the semi-finals. It was a good day as LA came out strong in the first two sets with all cylinders firing. The third set saw the Toppers down 16-22 and 21-23 but they were able to overcome the deficit and set up a meeting with the Hope Huskies with a birth in the 4A State Semi-Finals on the line. Michelle Macias led the way with 13 kills followed by Ashley Hammond with 9 kills.
