St. Amant Gators (St. Amant, LA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Chalmette Owls (Chalmette, LA), 71-57 in a non-league bout.

With the win, St. Amant upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Gators travel to Hahnville (Boutte, LA) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Thursday, November 17. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Hahnville won 48-43 in their recent non-league bout against Archbishop Rummel (Metairie, LA)

Next up, the Owls play the St. Paul's Wolves (Covington, LA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, November 17. Chalmette will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Wolves go into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 64-63 non-league loss to Edna Karr (New Orleans, LA).
