Hays Hawks (Buda, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting McCallum Knights (Austin, TX), 56-50 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Hays upgrades its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Bridgeland (Cypress, TX) to play the Bears in a non-league bout on Thursday, November 16. The Bears come into the bout with a record of 2-0. Bridgeland won 53-39 in their recent non-league bout against Nederland (Nederland, TX)

Next up, the Knights play the Lanier Voks (San Antonio, TX) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, November 16. McCallum will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Voks come into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 58-43 non-league loss to McCollum (San Antonio, TX).
