Walnut Wildcats (Walnut, MS) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host North Pontotoc Vikings (Ecru, MS), 72-68 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Walnut upgrades its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Byers (Holly Springs, MS) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Friday, November 17. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 3-1. Byers won 60-49 in their recent non-league bout against Lafayette (Oxford, MS)
Next up, the Vikings play the Vardaman Rams (Vardaman, MS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, November 14. North Pontotoc will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record.
