In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Utopia Buffaloes basketball team scored a good 58-48 triumph over the McMullen County Cowboys.

The Buffaloes (2-0) will now prepare for their contest against La Pryor (La Pryor, TX). The Bulldogs go into the non-league contest with a 0-0 record.
