In Friday's non-league test, the Midway Panthers (Waco, TX) basketball squad knocked off the host Burges Mustangs (El Paso, TX), by a score of 50-37.

Next, the Panthers encounter the Vandegrift Vipers (Austin, TX) in a non-league test, on Friday, November 14. Midway will attempt to improve on its 3-2 season record. The Vipers come into the test with a 1-1 record after their 44-43 non-league loss to Rouse (Leander, TX).
