In Friday's non-league challenge, the host Cottonwood Classical Prep Coyotes volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the New Mexico Military Institute Colts.

The Coyotes (20-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM). The Cougars come into the non-league challenge with a 18-6 record. In their last challenge, Tohatchi was edged by Ruidoso (Ruidoso, NM), 3-1, in a non-league game.
