Covington Lions (Covington, LA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Sumner Cowboys (Kentwood, LA), 92-67 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Covington upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Brother Martin (New Orleans, LA) to play the Crusaders in a non-league bout on Monday, November 21. The Crusaders come into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Cowboys play the New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy Bulldogs (New Orleans, LA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, November 17. Sumner will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 60-27 non-league loss to Terrebonne (Houma, LA).
