The South Pontotoc Cougars basketball team (Pontotoc, MS), was overwhelmed 55-33 in Thursday's non-league battle with the host Oxford Chargers (Oxford, MS)

The Chargers now possess a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Neshoba Central for a non-league battle on Saturday, November 18. Oxford will confront a Rockets team coming off a 67-63 non-league loss to Choctaw Central (Philadelphia, MS). The Rockets record now stands at 3-2.

The Cougars (2-1) will now prepare for their battle against DeSoto Central (Southaven, MS). The Jaguars come into the non-league battle with a 2-2 record. In their last battle, DeSoto Central trounced Grenada (Grenada, MS), 65-54, in a non-league battle.
