Thornton Wildcats (Harvey, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Richards Bulldogs (Oak Lawn, IL), 48-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Thornton upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Payton College Prep (Chicago, IL) to play the Grizzlies in a non-league bout on Friday, November 17. The Grizzlies go into the bout with a record of 4-0. Payton College Prep won 41-25 in their recent non-league bout against Evergreen Park (Evergreen Park, IL)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Blue Island Eisenhower Cardinals (Blue Island, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, November 18. Richards will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 55-25 non-league loss to Shepard (Palos Heights, IL).
