Westby Norsemen (Westby, WI) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Sparta Spartans (Sparta, WI), 39-34 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Westby upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Norsemen host Luther (Onalaska, WI) to play the Knights in a Coulee bout on Tuesday, November 28. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 0-1.

Next up, the Spartans play the Cochrane-Fountain City Pirates (Fountain City, WI) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, November 21. Sparta will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record.
