The Walnut Wildcats basketball team (Walnut, MS), was nudged 72-69 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Byers Lions (Holly Springs, MS)
The Lions now sport a 4-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Nettleton for a non-league battle on Monday, November 20. Byers will battle a Tigers team coming off a 53-44 non-league loss to Tishomingo County (Iuka, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 1-2.
The Wildcats (2-2) will now prepare for their battle against Hardin County (Savannah, TN). The Tigers come into the non-league battle with a 2-0 record. In their last battle, Hardin County edged Hughes (Clifton, TN), 45-43, in a non-league battle.
