Southwest EC Eagles (El Centro, CA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Cathedral City Lions (Cathedral City, CA), 50-40 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Southwest EC upgrades its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Twentynine Palms (Twentynine Palms, CA) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Saturday, November 18. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 0-2. Twentynine Palms lost 62-27 in their recent non-league bout against Palm Springs (Palm Springs, CA)

Next up, the Lions play the Calexico Bulldogs (Calexico, CA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, November 18. Cathedral City will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 1-0 record after their 58-46 non-league win over Xavier Prep (Palm Desert, CA).
