Merryville Panthers (Merryville, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Sam Houston Broncos (Lake Charles, LA), 49-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Merryville upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Panthers host St. Louis Catholic (Lake Charles, LA) to play the Saints in a non-league bout on Saturday, November 25. The Saints go into the bout with a record of 0-1. St. Louis Catholic lost 50-49 in their recent non-league bout against Sam Houston (Lake Charles, LA)

Next up, the Broncos play the Leesville Wampus Cats (Leesville, LA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, November 28. Sam Houston will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record.
