California High School Basketball - Casa Grande thwarts Novato

The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the Casa Grande Gauchos (Petaluma, CA) and the host Novato Hornets (Novato, CA), witnessed Casa Grande's basketball team knock off Novato by a score of 36-25.
The Gauchos (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Middletown (Middletown, CA). The Mustangs come into the non-league challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last battle, Middletown thwarted Rancho Cotate (Rohnert Park, CA), 54-24, in a non-league battle.
The Hornets now own a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to St. Helena for a non-league battle on Friday, November 21.
First Quarter
Casa Grande started the game out aggressive and quick to the basket. Scoring a quarter high of 17 team points, was led by #23 Jordyn's 7 points. Novato couldn't get many baskets to start the game, with #11 Evie scoring the only 2 points of the quarter.
Second Quarter
The quarter was ran by Casa Grande's, scoring only 6 points. But holding Novato to only 4 points during this quarter.
Third Quarter
Novato picked up the intensity to start the 2nd half. Evie Walsh #11, scored her quarter high of ten points, including two and-1 three point shots. Novato ending the quarter with 13 points scored during that period. Novato's offense came out hot and ready, their defense also came out aggressive and fast. Only allowing a quarter low of 2 points for Casa Grande.
Fourth Quarter
Both teams battled back and forth, Casa Grande never giving up the lead. Novato came within 4 points of Casa Grande but were never able to overcome their tremendous start to the game.
