Lufkin Panthers (Lufkin, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Wylie Pirates (Wylie, TX), 61-53 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Lufkin upgrades its record to 4-3 on the season. The Panthers travel to Walnut Grove (Prosper, TX) to clash with the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Saturday, November 18. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 4-2. Walnut Grove won 75-48 in their recent non-league bout against Centennial (Frisco, TX)

Next up, the Pirates clash with the Pearce Mustangs (Richardson, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, November 21. Wylie will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 4-2 record after their 64-48 non-league win over New Caney (New Caney, TX).
