Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Waunakee Warriors (Waunakee, WI) and the host Lakeland Thunderbirds (Minocqua, WI), saw Waunakee's basketball squad hold off Lakeland by a count of 65-62.
With the victory, Waunakee upgrades its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Warriors host Monona Grove (Monona, WI) to play the Silver Eagles in a Badger - East challenge on Tuesday, November 21. The Silver Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 0-1. Monona Grove lost 55-46 in their recent league challenge against Watertown (Watertown, WI)
Next up, the Thunderbirds play the Shawano Community Hawks (Shawano, WI) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, November 21. Lakeland will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 2-0 record after their 76-39 non-league win over Wausau East (Wausau, WI).
