The Nixon Mustangs basketball team scored 43 points and restricted the visiting Pioneer Diamondbacks to 30 in the Mustangs non-league victory on Saturday.

The Mustangs now sport a 10-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Alexander for a non-league contest on Wednesday, November 22. Nixon will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 78-32 non-league win over Rockport-Fulton (Rockport, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-2.

The Diamondbacks (5-6) will now prepare for their contest against Edinburg North (Edinburg, TX). The Cougars come into the non-league contest with a 5-3 record. In their last contest, Edinburg North prevailed over La Feria (La Feria, TX), 48-40, in a non-league contest.
