Del Norte Nighthawks (San Diego, CA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Steele Canyon Cougars (Spring Valley, CA), 24-21 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Del Norte upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Nighthawks host La Costa Canyon (Carlsbad, CA) to play the Mavericks in a non-league bout on Monday, November 27. The Mavericks come into the bout with a record of 1-0.

Next up, the Cougars play the Pacific Ridge Firebird (Carlsbad, CA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, November 27. Steele Canyon will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record.
