Fans at Tuesday's non-league battle between the Young Audiences Yacs (Gretna, LA) and the visiting Phoenix Spartans (Braithwaite, LA), witnessed Young Audiences's basketball squad hold off Phoenix by a count of 42-38.

With the victory, Young Audiences advances its record to 1-0 on the year. The Yacs host L.W. Higgins (Marrero, LA) to meet the Hurricanes in a non-league battle on Thursday, November 20. The Hurricanes enter the battle with a record of 0-2. L.W. Higgins lost 52-33 in their recent league battle against John Ehret (Marrero, LA)

The Spartans now own a 2-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Frederick A. Douglass for a non-league contest on Monday, December 1.
