The Jayton Jaybirds basketball team scored 42 points and restricted the visiting Lamesa Tornadoes to 19 in the Jaybirds non-league victory on Saturday.
The Jaybirds now sport a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Colorado for a non-league contest on Monday, December 19.
The Tornadoes (3-5) will now prepare for their contest against Andrews (Andrews, TX). The Mustangs come into the non-league contest with a 1-3 record. In their last contest, Andrews triumphed over Midland Classical Academy (Midland, TX), 39-27, in a non-league contest.
