The Somerset Academy South Homestead Hurricanes basketball squad (Homestead, FL), was crushed 70-34 in Wednesday's league battle with the host Mater Bay Academy Rays (Cutler Bay, FL)

With the victory, Mater Bay Academy advances its record to 2-0 on the year. The Rays travel to Mater Lakes Academy (Miami, FL) to meet the Bears in a non-league battle on Friday, November 21. The Bears enter the battle with a record of 0-0.

The Hurricanes now have a 1-1 record. They play next when they host Keys Gate for a non-league contest on Monday, November 24. Somerset Academy South Homestead will battle a Knights team coming off a 80-60 non-league win over Marathon (Marathon, FL). The Knights record now stands at 1-2.
