Athens Hornets (Athens, TX) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Community Braves (Nevada, TX), 81-58 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Athens upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Hornets travel to Kaufman (Kaufman, TX) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Tuesday, November 21. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 2-1. Kaufman lost 50-45 in their recent non-league bout against Canton (Canton, TX)

Next up, the Braves play the Lone Oak Buffaloes (Lone Oak, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, November 28. Community will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Buffaloes go into the bout with a 3-1 record after their 66-19 non-league win over Como-Pickton (Como, TX).
