Pearsall Mavericks (Pearsall, TX) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Hondo Owls (Hondo, TX), 80-74 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pearsall upgrades its record to 4-4 on the season. The Mavericks host San Antonio Christian (San Antonio, TX) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Monday, November 27. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 5-5. San Antonio Christian won 59-54 in their recent non-league bout against Harlandale (San Antonio, TX)

Next up, the Owls play the Nixon-Smiley Mustangs (Nixon, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, November 21. Hondo will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 1-1 record after their 63-20 non-league win over Prairie Lea (Prairie Lea, TX).
