Mississippi High School Basketball - Lafayette bested by South Pontotoc

The Lafayette Commodores basketball team (Oxford, MS), was topped 58-38 in Thursday's non-league contest with the visiting South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS)

The Cougars (4-2) will now prepare for their contest against Okolona (Okolona, MS). The Chieftains come into the non-league contest with a 1-1 record. In their last contest, Okolona was topped by Houston (Houston, MS), 66-33, in a non-league match.

The Commodores now own a 3-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Saltillo for a non-league match on Friday, November 21. Lafayette will face a Tigers squad coming off a 65-25 non-league win over Nettleton (Nettleton, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 1-2.
