Fans at Thursday's non-league battle between the West Jones Mustangs (Laurel, MS) and the visiting Sumrall Bobcats (Sumrall, MS), saw West Jones's soccer squad hold off Sumrall by a score of 2-1.

The Mustangs (7-1) will now prepare for their test against Forest Hill (Jackson, MS). The Patriots come into the 6A Region 3 test with a 3-1 record. In their last test, Forest Hill nipped Yazoo County (Yazoo City, MS), 2-1, in a non-league test.

The Bobcats now sport a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Pike for a non-league test on Tuesday, December 2.
