The Heritage Christian Defenders basketball team scored 40 points and held the visiting Hammond Academy of Science & Tech Hawks to 33 in the Defenders league triumph on Monday.

The Defenders now sport a 1-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Illinois Lutheran for a non-league contest on Tuesday, November 22. Heritage Christian will meet a Chargers team coming off a 45-35 non-league loss to Kankakee Trinity Academy (Kankakee, IL). The Chargers record now stands at 0-1.

The Hawks (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against Whiting (Whiting, IN). The Oilers enter the non-league contest with a 0-0 record.
