The Mt. Vernon Mountaineers topped the visiting Joplin Eagles basketball team by a final score of 44-35 in Tuesday's non-league game.
In their next game, the Mountaineers face the Cassville Wildcats (Cassville, MO) in a Big 8 game, on Tuesday, December 5. Mt. Vernon will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record.
