The Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX) basketball got by the host Rio Grande City Rattlers (Rio Grande City, TX), 42-37 in Friday's non-league test.

Next, the Sabercats encounter the Donna Redskins (Donna, TX) in a non-league test, on Saturday, November 22. Vela will attempt to improve on its 10-3 season record. The Redskins come into the test with a 6-3 record after their 51-49 non-league win over King (Corpus Christi, TX).

The Rattlers (2-3) will now prepare for their test against La Joya (La Joya, TX). The Coyotes come into the non-league test with a 6-5 record. In their last test, La Joya was nipped by New Braunfels (New Braunfels, TX), 29-22, in a non-league test.
