East Chicago Central Cardinals (East Chicago, IN) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Whiting Oilers (Whiting, IN), 59-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, East Chicago Central upgrades its record to 5-1 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Chesterton (Chesterton, IN) to play the Trojans in a non-league bout on Tuesday, November 29. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 4-3. Chesterton lost 60-36 in their recent league bout against Lake Central (St. John, IN)

Next up, the Oilers play the Hanover Central Wildcats (Cedar Lake, IN) in a Greater South Shore bout, on Friday, December 2. Whiting will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record.
